TORCH Hub is the companion for TORCH DAW. Download the Hub, install the DAW, check available updates, and manage the installers you retain in your local vault. Updates remain user-controlled—you decide when to install.

First launch on macOS

  1. Open the downloaded DMG. Open INSTALL DIRECTIONS there for the complete steps, then drag TORCH Hub to Applications.
  2. Try to open TORCH Hub once. If the message says “developer cannot be verified” or “Apple cannot check it,” choose Done.
  3. Return to the DMG and open OPEN PRIVACY & SECURITY. It opens Apple’s Privacy & Security settings directly and works offline. Choose Open Anyway and confirm Open.
  4. If macOS says the app is damaged or will damage your computer, do not bypass it—download again or send TORCH an issue report.

What’s new in TORCH DAW 16.0.4

AVAILABLE THROUGH TORCH HUB
TORCH Command Assistant now runs from a deterministic built-in music-production and engineering command library. It needs no AI provider, account, API key, or cloud model.
Unknown or out-of-domain requests fail closed without changing the session. Hub provider-key controls are removed; audio, MIDI, Mixer, plug-ins, arrangement, sequencer, Piano Roll, rendering, and project behavior are preserved.
Mixer, Piano Roll, Sequencer, Patterns, native instruments and effects can detach into desktop windows. Mixer retains normal and fullscreen presentation.
Hosted-insert restoration waits for its factory instrument to become ready when reopening a project, preserving the track’s saved insert state.
Four offline tutorials cover Arrangement editing, Piano Roll and automation, Groove and Sequencer workflows, plus mixer effects.
Each TORCH instrument exposes one accessible Mini FX control for its existing per-track EQ, compressor, delay, and reverb rack.
Three separate native processors—TORCH Guitar Rack, TORCH Guitar Amp, and TORCH Bass Amp—provide dedicated pedal, amplifier, cabinet, and microphone controls with independent state and bypass.
The macOS release is Universal2. All 82 registered DAW automated tests passed; these tests are automated evidence, not a guarantee of every session or workflow.

Independent by design

Built by a musician who needed the instrument to exist.

TORCH™ DAW was created and invented by Shawn A. Rogers AKA Markus Fire—an independent Black musician and producer who began with zero coding skills. Over seven months, he designed the workstation, its native instruments, samplers, effects, Sequencer, Piano Roll, Hub, and Command Center as one original creative system.

There was no conventional development team. Shawn created TORCH independently with AI serving as his coding tool; OpenAI Codex completed the production engineering, system wiring, and interface refinement. The result is a professional creative home built from a musician’s vision, with accessibility and artists’ real work kept close to every decision.
