This Privacy Policy describes how TORCH DAW ("we", "us") handles information in connection with the torchdaw.com website, the TORCH Hub application, and TORCH DAW (together, the "Products").
1. The Short Version
We are a music software company, not a data company. We collect the minimum needed to sell you a license, activate it, and support you. We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information Collected on This Website
torchdaw.com is a static website. It does not require an account and does not ask you for personal information. Our hosting provider (Netlify) may process standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
3. Purchases
Purchases of TORCH DAW are processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy (torchdaw.lemonsqueezy.com). When you buy a license, Lemon Squeezy collects the information needed to complete the transaction — such as your name, email address, billing country, and payment details — under its own privacy policy. We receive your order details (name, email, and license information) so we can issue and manage your license key. We never see or store your full payment card details.
4. License Activation
TORCH DAW licenses may be activated on up to 3 machines. To enforce this, activation associates your license key with an identifier for each activated machine. This information is used solely for license management and support.
5. TORCH Hub and the Offline Vault
TORCH Hub downloads, installs, updates, and reinstalls our products on your computer. Installer files kept in the Hub's offline vault are stored locally on your machine. The Hub connects to our servers to check for and download products and updates; those requests include standard technical information needed to serve the download.
6. TORCH AI Assistant — Bring Your Own Backend
The TORCH AI assistant connects to an AI backend that you configure — either a local model on your machine (for example, Ollama) or a cloud AI service using your own API key. We do not operate an AI backend and we do not receive the content of your AI prompts or sessions. If you connect a third-party cloud service, your use of that service is governed by that provider's privacy policy. API keys you enter are stored locally on your machine (on macOS, in the system Keychain).
7. Support
If you email support@torchdaw.com, we receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include. We use it only to help you.
8. What We Don't Do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not run third-party advertising on this site.
- Your projects, audio, and MIDI stay on your machine — TORCH DAW does not upload your music to us.
9. Data Retention and Your Rights
We keep order and license records for as long as needed to honor your lifetime license and meet legal obligations. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. To exercise them, contact us at the support address below.
10. Children
Our Products are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
11. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will post the updated version on this page.
